A beautiful, largely natural hiking trail through the beech forest, with beautiful views to the north

It's always a nice goal.

Length: 11.2 km Duration: 3.5 hours We hike towards Diekholzen, after which High-voltage line on the right to the beautiful forest portal. Continue on a small path with views of the village. At Tannenkamp, go left uphill via the Kammweg. A series of boundary stones, views and benches make the ascent to the Tosmarhütte and summit cross easier.

The Braunschweig Way of St. James is a revitalized historic pilgrimage route that once ran along the famous Hellweg from east to west. He was long forgotten; now we have rediscovered and opened up this heritage. Many partners have been involved since 2013: Church communities and municipalities, pilgrim associations and convents, owners and residents, state churches and dioceses and much more. Stage after stage was added, so that the gap between Magdeburg and Hildesheim has now been closed and the Braunschweig Way of St. James will soon be integrated into the network of European Ways of St. James in Corvey/Höxter. Hildesheim has a 1905 built Bismarck tower of the Götterdämmerung type. It stands at the beginning of the Galgenberg east of the city center and offers a wide view of Hildesheim and the surrounding area from its viewing platform. (Source: Wikipedia)

So close to Hildesheim but we just met a hiker. A great deciduous forest, wonderful to walk.
