At 480 m, the Mere Cell is the highest elevation in the Hils and Alfelder Bergland (Ith-Hils-Bergland). It lies on the border between the districts of Holzminden and Hildesheim, a good 4 km north-east of Eschershausen. With a dominance of 18 km and a prominence of about 235 m, Hils and Blöße are among the most sublime ridges and peaks in the Lower Saxony highlands.
