The Neunlindenturm stands on the Totenkopf, the highest mountain in the Kaiserstuhl. The tower is 14m high and offers a great view of the Kaiserstuhl, the Black Forest, the Vosges and the Rhine plain.

At the latest since 1333 there was a Pauline monastery here, which was abandoned around 1525. In 1900 this lookout tower was built here on the Neunlinden-Totenkopf summit by the Badischer Schwarzwaldverein. And yes, the view is fantastic!

Wonderful vision. Especially on a clear day a very wide view towards Switzerland and France. Great to take a break but rather below the tower. It is relatively tight on the tower and is now recommended with Corona with a mask. Please pay attention to the trapdoor at the top. It is beautifully foggy in the valley, especially in the early hours. It is also worth going up the tower twice a day, as the picture changes sensually from morning to night.

The little road from Oberrotweil up to the Totenkopfgipfel is a highly recommended detour up to the highest peak of the Kaiserstuhl. The paved road leads up to the large transmission tower on the summit, the last few meters are in fact not accessible at all, as the transmission system is extensively fenced. The rest of the road is well paved, only a few sections, each 50-100m long, are very old and require considerable caution with narrow racing tires, especially downhill. The gradient is changeable, partly crisp with 12% partly almost flat. The route winds its way through the forest with many bends and in some sections confusing - be careful when you go down, tourists sometimes get lost in cars on the actually closed route and forest workers are always to be expected. Driving on it is a bit tricky when it is wet, as the asphalt can then be very slippery.

From Bleichheim you start the tour to Kürnberg Castle on the Ölberg and climb up the Kammergraben. The route is well signposted here. Those who hike the Vierburgenweg from Emmendingen (or from the Schlüpfingerhof) can use the 113 road between Bombach and Heimbach for a route to Kirnburg. The entrance here is a parking lot for hikers.
