The hut in front of the entrance to the Maximiliansgrotte is actually the ticket office for entry. There is a lot of information about the grotto in the hut. Anyone who wants a guided tour of the grotto has to pay here and backpacks are locked in the hut for the tour and can be collected again after the tour. I can personally only recommend a guided tour and visit to the Maximiliansgrotte, a really big and beautiful grotto :)

In front of the entrance to the grotto there is a small hut where you can buy drinks and tickets for the visit. Benches in front of the door invite you to linger.

Very nice restaurant with a wonderful beer garden. Overnight stays are also very cheap here. Opening times Pre-season: March and April open Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays! Definitely worth a tip. Sit outside with a lovely view. Buy fresh wood-fired bread and cave cheese. There are various events here; we caught suckling pig day and the food was excellent. There is also a monthly beer. Every month a small brewery is served to support them.

Pretty rest area, directly on the ascent to the castle ruins of Hollenberg

In the center of Stierberg, at the intersection of several hiking trails, there's a lovely, slightly elevated rest and play area with seating, playground equipment, and plenty of space to play. What makes this spot special, however, is a small hut containing a variety of items that hikers can take: books, board and party games, children's clothing, printed coffee mugs, and more. The best part? There's absolutely no junk on offer; only useful and well-preserved goods. A small donation box is located next to the hut, where hikers can leave a small contribution for what they've taken. A truly beautiful spot in a peaceful setting for a break – highly recommended.
