レーガウの絶景の山頂・トップ5

The Walkenberg summit (952 m) near Altusried in the Upper Allgäu is a rather inconspicuous, yet geographically official, peak without a marker or summit cross. Nestled in the rolling hills of the Adelegg region, it is ideal for quiet hikes off the beaten track.

If you're lucky, you can see the mountains in the third row... and with even more luck, alphorn players play on Thursdays.

The road to Sommersberg is nicer from Herbisried and not so steep. Depending on the weather, you can also see some of the mountains, even if the mountains are far away. I rode the dirt road to the bridge after a long period of rain, and the ground had lots of gullies and holes from the water. The route goes through the forest, which I personally don't like, and I'll cross the route off my list. If you feel like it, you can ride the route from top to bottom over the bridge and on a nice side road to Altusried, where you'll come to an ice cream parlor or snack bar right on the bike path. The ice cream is delicious, and there are snacks and drinks.

The Sommerberg is, if you will, the guardian of Altusried on the other side of the Iller. From here you have a nice view of the Illerschleife on a good day. From the Sommerberg there is a nice little descent for cyclists down to the banks of the Iller and over the suspension bridge.

This is the geographically official peak of Walkenberg. There is no great view, no marking, no summit cross or the like. A natural Adelegg summit as it looks.

Just sit under the tree and enjoy the view.

The Wolfsberg is always something special. On the one hand, because of the very steep ramps when approaching, but not least because of the history of the former property, which one can guess when visiting. In my pictures you can see 2 memorial stones. The farmers had to carry 3 of their children to the grave early. Nothing can be found on the internet about the tragic stories behind it. Maybe I'll get more information from the Adelegg experts and write it down later.
