The fascinating river landscape of the Amper River is home to a multitude of highly protected animal and plant species. The former river bends of the Amper, with their extensive reed beds, are an ideal habitat, especially for reed-nesting bird species. The Amper's expansive valleys contrast sharply with the steep slopes of the Leiten river. Many beautiful viewpoints are located along the high valley edges. The area is ideal for hiking, cycling, and other outdoor activities year-round. The long-distance cycle path "Ammer-Amper Cycle Path" runs right through the scenic Amper Valley.

The "Haager Weiher" gravel pit lake is beautifully situated in the heart of the Amper Valley and, with its surrounding land, is ideal for recreational purposes. The spacious 1.8-hectare sunbathing area and approximately 5-hectare water surface invite young and old to swim and relax.

In the period from 1123 to 1130 the place was first mentioned as Inner Choven. In 1329 the seat of the regional court was moved from Inkofen Castle to Moosburg an der Isar. From 1395 to 1447, Inkofen was once again the permanent seat of the court. In 1448, the Pullingers bought the non-ducal goods as Hofmark. In the years that followed, ownership changed frequently. Local lords were 1484-1506 the Magensrether, 1506-1554 the Greisse, 1554-1641 the Reindorfer, 1641-1762 the Schrenck von Notzing, 1762-1785 the Schreckleeb and since 1785 the Counts Basselet von La Rosée, who own the castle to this day.

The church, especially the choir and tower, date back to the early 15th century, the nave was built in 1852. The beautifully structured tower with its five floors and the three Gothic pointed arches per floor, which is crowned with a high octagonal, catches the eye Pointed helmet with the rare oriel attachments at the four corners. It is attached to the late Gothic choir in the north, although it was redesigned in the Baroque period. The sacristy is nestled in the corner between the tower and the choir. The nave is a simple hall construction with modern painting of the ceiling. The chancel is drawn in with a beautiful vault. The richly decorated high altar with four twisted columns was created in 1743. In the middle is the sculpture of St. Michael, his attributes carried by angels, with the holy women Katharina and Margarita at his side, all from the 17th century.
