Monastery founded in 1010 by Henry II's deed, Augustinian Canonry until 1803. Early monastery from the time of Tassilo III, around 750. Exceptional former collegiate church, Gothic hall from 1420 at its core, Renaissance remodeling in 1628 and Rococo renovation in 1765. Entrance hall from 1733 with the inscription "Liberality Bavaria". Furnishings by Hans Leinberger, Barth. Steinle, Joh. Bapt. Straub, F. X. Schmädl and Joh. Bapt. Baader. Former monastery library hall, concert hall since renovation in 1975. The municipality was awarded the Europa Nostra Prize for the successful village renewal, especially in the monastery ensemble around the church square. Access to the church is only possible up to the wrought iron gate (around 1760) under the organ gallery, otherwise guided tours are available by arrangement.
