フォイトブルクは、何度か避難場所として利用された小さな岩場の城です。12世紀に遡り、元々は岩の上に建てられた小さな塔の城で構成されていました。岩から切り出された巨大な堀によって山から隔てられています。堀の建設中に得られた石は、今日でも唯一現存する建物である塔の建設に使用されました。フォイトブルクは今日、深い森の中に隠れており、廃墟としても、その構造と避難場所としての機能の雰囲気の両方において、その名に恥じないものです。

Mandelberg Castle was first documented in 1287. The approximately 33-meter-high keep survived the destruction by the peasant rebels in 1525.

Superbly maintained. Unfortunately, the public can only admire it from the outside.

It's hard to believe that this amazing attraction was destroyed by mindless vandals. It was always a bit of an adventure to climb the spiral staircase in the dark. I can still vividly remember the construction and excavation of the inner castle and the farmyard in the early 1970s by archaeologists from the State Office for Monument Protection. The municipality invested a lot of work and money in the iron spiral staircase to guarantee visitors a beautiful view. Who knows if the 35-meter-high keep will ever be opened again.

Unfortunately the castle is not open to the public (forest school)

A little hard to find, and unfortunately a little neglected. Very manageable. But still OK as part of the attraction on the Four Castles Trail.

A nice snack

From the valley, the ruins can be reached via a narrow path (somewhat hidden) in 200 meters. It goes up a grassy path. The tower stump walls are overgrown with grass, moss...
