Beautiful old gate tower, impossible to miss

The view of Tauberbischofsheim reveals the charming old town with its half-timbered houses, the Türmersturm (Tower Tower) and the parish church of St. Martin – nestled in the green Tauber Valley.

The Bismarck Tower stands on the Höhberg and was ceremoniously inaugurated on October 4, 1903. Erected by the Academic Holiday Association Tuberania, it is a 9-meter-high granite column with a plaque and fire bowl at the top.

St. Wolfgang's Chapel dates back to the 15th century and was once a pilgrimage destination. It is idyllically situated west of the town, across the Tauber River, and is still the scene of the traditional Whitsun ride.

It was built in 1494 and originally served as a watchtower outside the city. At that time, it was surrounded only by a rampart and palisades, which were later replaced by walls around 1630 and 1730.
