The New Palace, which is well worth seeing, was built by Elector Max Emanuel in 1726 and is part of the Schleissheim Palace complex. It was the summer residence of the Electors and Kings of Bavaria from the House of Wittelsbach from 1726 to 1918. The palace complex is one of the most important baroque complexes in Germany.

We were very surprised how big and quiet the area is. Admission to all three castles costs EUR 10.

It's great to cycle along the Isar. The path is wide and well developed. You almost always have a view of the river.
