A beautiful narrow path winds through the gorge between rocks along the stream. Stairs and bridges offer constantly changing perspectives of the waterfalls.

The Old Hohenbaden Castle was the first residence of the powerful Margraves of Baden-Baden. It is one of the three castles on the Black Forest heights around Baden-Baden, with which the margraviate protected itself. The ruins still impress with their enormous size.

On an approx. 2 km long route you hike along the stream through the rocky Gertelbach gorge. There are always interesting views of the waterfalls over stairs and bridges.

Gorgeous, well-preserved and huge ruin. Great atmosphere, several stairs to the highest tower and a currently unfortunately closed restaurant.

The impressive ruins of Hohenbaden Castle – today it is also called the "Old Castle" – are located above Baden-Baden. In the 14th century, today's upper castle was expanded to include a second part of the castle, the lower castle. The Margraves of Baden now had a powerful residence.
