The Creuzburg is an impressive historic castle complex with elements dating from the High Middle Ages to the Baroque period. I find it particularly fascinating as a place where one can still trace the legacy of Saint Elizabeth of Thuringia after so many centuries. A visit is definitely worth it.

From the cycle path you have a nice view of Normannstein Castle. If you have a little time, you should plan a detour to the castle. From up there you can see the beautiful Werra Valley.

A well-restored and well-maintained castle ruin. Everything is secure, the tower is accessible via a staircase and there is even a toilet. The view from the tower is very beautiful.

Picturesquely located, the castle is worth a trip; you can also park directly in front of it. There you will find the registry office, the tourist information center and also a restaurant. During my visit there was also an open air stage set up in the castle courtyard.
