The Brahmetal is located in the very north-east of the district and stretches between the municipality of Brahmenau and the city of Gera, where the Brahme flows into the White Elster. The Brahme is characterized by near-natural river sections with remnants of floodplain forest rich in old and dead wood.

Most recently until 1918 for the Principality of Gera-Reuss j.L. and the Duchy of Saxony-Altenburg. The lower part of the memorial stone is an original boundary stone. The upper part was run by the Korbußen-Pöppeln local history association (HKP) added and re-erected (not measured) at the location where the border once ran. The original location of the stone was between Mehlhornsmühle and Großenstein. There he was pulled over and recovered on the side of the road.
