The Ehrbachklamm was opened up in 1921 by the pharmacist Georg Francke from Boppard (1860 to 1926). In 1991, a commemorative plaque was placed in the Ehrbachklamm to mark the 70th anniversary of its existence.

If you drive the beautiful cycle path on the left bank of the Rhine between Koblenz and Boppard and you pass Spay. Then on the other side of the Rhine, at a height of 160 m on a slate cone, the only medieval hilltop castle that has never been destroyed. An enchanting sight, plus a great photo opportunity.

There are spacious benches in front of the entrance so you can linger after the circular route and the sometimes slippery descent.

You can make particularly good progress on this section. But there is often a lot of oncoming traffic.
