The Marksburg stands on a slate cone at a height of 160 meters and is the only medieval hilltop castle on the Middle Rhine that has never been destroyed.

Great rest stop with a great view. Unfortunately, when we visited it was full of empty bottles and rubbish.

Nice place for a break. The view from up here is magnificent.
