Beautiful view of the city and fortress

Colloredo Brewhouse on Schifferplatz in Hallein; built in 1798 under Archbishop Hieronymus Colloredo, it is the oldest surviving brewhouse in Austria; however, it played no role in salt production, as the entire facility proved to be a technically flawed construction; salt production in the province of Salzburg ended in 1989; the castle-like brewhouse in the neoclassical style is now used for residential purposes.

There are mysterious catacombs under the church, where monks were buried in the old days. They are closed to the general public, but there are many legends about them.

The Cajetan Church (German: Kajetanerkirche) is one of the little-known, but very beautiful Baroque churches in Salzburg. It was built between 1685 and 1696 by the monks of the Theatines, and it was named after Saint Cajetan of Thiens, the founder of this order. Interesting fact: Next to the church there was a hospital where the monks treated the poor and sick - that is, it was both a spiritual and a social institution. It was in the spirit of helping those in need that the order was founded.
