At first you can only guess at the castle ruins, only the keep is clearly visible. It is a foretaste of the castle grounds with its great view over Weinheim.

Built after 1100 as a protective castle for Lorsch Abbey, Windeck Castle was destroyed in the late 17th century. Since 1978, the castle ruins have been owned by the city of Weinheim. An architectural rarity is the spiral staircase built into the wall of the keep.
