The Seemenbach, or Seeme as the stream is locally called, is an approximately 37 km long tributary of the Nidder. It rises here in the Vogelsberg, south of Alteburg Castle.

You can make good progress in both directions, an absolute highlight!

The tower is impressive and around it there is an adventure park with a variety of options for a great day out!

The Lüder spring (left Lüder) near Hartmannshain is a reliable indicator of the water situation in the region. In summer, there is sometimes barely a trickle to be seen or the spring dries up completely. The almost 40-kilometer-long Lüder, which gives its name to three places on its banks, is then only fed by secondary springs and streams before it flows into the Fulda near Lüdermünd. Incidentally, the Lüder has another spring (right Lüder) near Bermutshain.
