The mountain village of Reckingen has been shaped primarily by art. The church (1743-45) is the most important Baroque religious building in Upper Valais. Entire dynasties of sculptors, bell founders, and organ builders have brought their great art from Reckingen to Switzerland and the surrounding countries. In many churches, master organists still swear by the works of Reckingen's organ builders.

Small hamlet just outside Blitzingen - worth visiting for its chapel and fascinating ancient wooden chalets and storehouses.

Parts of the baroque altar by the Gommer woodcarver Ritz were stolen here. As a result, there is now a locked iron gate behind the entrance. The Kundt can now only be admired with binoculars.

The highlight are the baroque altars decorated with many sculptures from the school of the woodcarver Johannes Ritz (1666-1729) from Selkingen.
