Anyone traveling along the Saale River should definitely plan a stop at the Öblitzschleuse lock. There, you'll not only find a wonderful atmosphere right on the water, but also some truly delicious food. The kettle goulash, which has been served here for a long time and is a delight every time, is particularly recommended. Also new to the menu is the Starnberger Helle beer, which goes perfectly with it—a real insider tip for connoisseurs!

In July, the most amazing cherries are available here, as delicious and sweet as Amarena cherries, and pitch black to boot! I've rarely seen so many in 2025... and of course, I've been stealing them!

This one shows the Oeblitz lock on the Saale floodplain near Goseck, complete with a restaurant. This is a wonderful place to relax during a bike ride. Food and drink are also catered for. I highly recommend the draft beer 😊

A beautiful castle to look at and take pictures in. It's a pleasant place for a short rest. The castle houses a shoe museum and offers a wonderful view over Weißenfels.
