I love these lovingly designed entrance gates, which have a very personal feel and stand out from the standardized town entrance signs. Beautifully designed.

A somewhat inconspicuous spot is the turnoff to, among other things, the forest campsite. There's a fence directly under the bridge, but the gate was open. I hope it stays that way permanently. However, there's also a small detour you could take, which takes you a little further on over a bridge to cross the B174.

For a short stretch, the old B174 runs alongside the new B174. Only on the old B174 can I see all the way to Augustusburg in peace. The new federal highway is a two-lane bypass, so stopping might not be a good idea ;-)
