The Lahnaue nature reserve includes wet meadows and several lakes that were created from former gravel pits. The area has developed into an important resting and transit area for waterfowl. So always stay on the path. If you keep quiet, you have a good chance of spotting some of the shy birds.

The Seepark has had the largest aqua park in Germany since 2017. Up to 132 people can do sports and have fun on floating trampolines, slides and climbing walls at the same time. The aqua park can be used every hour from midday.

The old bridge over the Lahn between Dutenhofen and Atzbach is a beautiful building that fits into the landscape. The railing testifies to the craftsmanship of the locksmiths who had their business in the area. That the locks come with railings? It's a matter of taste. On this side of the Lahn downstream to Dorlar is more scenic.

Nice place to pause and a good view of the Lahn.

Relatively flat, asphalted path from Gießen to Wetzlar. Past Atzbach and Dorlar you always have the Lahn on the sunny side 🤗 sometimes you can rush through quite quickly, although pedestrians often like to cavort along the way. Even more at the weekend. I also often meet skaters on the track.
