Triebischsee in the Tharandt Forest. Information: An artificial pond created towards the end of the 20th century. The Triebisch River is dammed here. Weary hikers can rest on comfortable benches along the water's edge and observe dragonflies and other aquatic life. Water lilies also adorn the surface.

Very good for cycling. Some sections are very narrow when someone is coming the other way. There are steep descents to the left and right of the path. It's better to wait a moment until someone has passed. It might be tight. It goes pretty fast downhill. So you need to concentrate fully. Otherwise a wonderful cycle path. A beautiful high-altitude trail in the Weißeritztal slopes between Tharandt and Freital is the Brüderweg. It leads through dense beech forests along the slope on the left side of the valley and offers great views of the valley. At first it's pleasantly wide, then it becomes a little narrower and has more of a mountain path feel. It's also really exciting because of the railings, bridges and ropes. Before you descend back into the valley, you should take a detour to the Ofenfelsen Freital, which can be found on the extension of the Brüderweg.

The Brüderweg is a historic hiking trail that connects Tharandt with Hainsberg. The trail is about 4 kilometers long and has an elevation difference of about 200 meters. It was built in the 18th century by two brothers who were foresters in the Tharandt Forest. The trail served them to reach their workplaces and transport wood.
