The national park is subject to a fee. A five-day ticket for climbers currently costs €24. Those who want to climb to the last parking lot pay an additional €5 per day. In return, there are approximately 500 climbing routes of all lengths and difficulty levels. Many easy, long, gradual climbs stand out.

Paklenica National Park is a national park located in the Velebit mountain range, 30 km northeast of the city of Zadar on the Croatian Adriatic Sea and approximately one kilometer from Starigrad-Paklenica. It encompasses Mediterranean, continental, and alpine climate zones and was declared a national park in 1949. The Cathedral of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Gospić became a Catholic cathedral church on May 25, 2000, with the establishment of the Gospić-Senj diocese. Originally a parish church, today's Cathedral was built between 1781 and 1783 in baroque classicism and is an example of a typical Krajina church of the 18th century. During the Homeland War, the church was the target of attacks, and on September 15, 1991, it was set on fire. On that occasion, the roof and cap of the belfry burned down with the interior, and the bells were melted, while the interior of the Cathedral was damaged by arson. The renovation began during the Homeland War, before Christmas 1992, it was covered. It was largely completed by July 22, 1999.
