The White Bridges form a short and idyllic connection between the Tribseer suburb and the old town of Stralsund. The two white bridges on the artificially created Küterdamm are a popular attraction. They span the Knieperteich, which is more of a lake, on which you can take short tours with pedal boats or rowing boats. The path over the Knieperteich used to be one of several trade routes and still leads through the Kniepertor into the old town. As part of the former urban fortifications, the White Bridges are now a small local recreation area and ideal for escaping the hustle and bustle of tourists. From here, the Knieperteich offers a very special photo opportunity for St. Mary's Church. The bathing area looks quite inviting. There is a covered rest area and the sandy beach looks well-kept. There are many water birds to observe and you have a good view of the small island in the Pütter See.
