The Amtshaus (administrative building) at Rothenfels Castle formerly served as an administrative building. Today, it stands as a historical monument to the district's history at the foot of the castle.

Homburg am Main Castle presents itself as a historical painter's corner that can be found with great regularity on calendars and in the relevant travel literature about Franconia. In fact: the architectural and historical landmark of the well-known wine-growing community on the eastern Mainviereck is one of the most famous monuments among the palaces and castles in Franconia. Homburg Castle has been municipally owned since 1869. The Triefenstein market as the current owner had to make a lot of efforts to save the half-timbered building from decay.

In the German-language castle literature, the term bergfried refers to the uninhabited main tower of a medieval castle, which has been widespread in Central Europe since the 12th century. If it is set up for permanent residential use, it is referred to as a residential tower. The keep here allows some views of Rothenfels and the Main when you arrive at the top.

In 1803, as part of the secularisation, the castle came to the princes of Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg, who sold it to the Quickborn Friends Association in 1919. Due to its function, the interior cannot be visited, but it is possible to walk across the extensive grounds. The small baroque garden or the keep are accessible. The toilets are in the former office building. Quite an impressive facility.
