A beautiful building with history, great photo opportunity

From the shore bike path through the New Park you can see the back of the world-famous castle. Right next to the entrance area there is a spacious bicycle parking lot, you can drive up to here and leave your two-wheeler here. It is then a 100 meter walk to the entrance. Located in the middle of a beautiful park, in which there are some other buildings worth seeing, the "Ohne Sorge" castle is certainly the main attraction of Potsdam - and that's saying something with the multitude of castles and historic buildings

Very beautiful and worth seeing historical building.

The mighty building of the New Palace at the western end of Sanssouci Park was clearly used for representation. It was the last palace that Frederick the Great had built in his park and a demonstration of the unbroken potential of the Prussian state after the meager years of privation and hardship of the Seven Years' War. The grounds and furnishings are sumptuous and exuberant. A tour of the magnificent halls is very worthwhile. The view from the castle terrace is always impressive. In the foreground the Havel extended to Glienicker Lake with the confluence of the Teltow Canal, the direct view of the Glienicke Bridge and beyond it to the further course of the Havel with the Jungfernsee.

The palace complex to the north of the New Garden was built in the English Tudor style at the beginning of the 20th century as the residence of the last Prussian-German Crown Prince Wilhelm, who never came to power because his father abdicated and the monarchy was abolished. The palace gained world-historical importance because the Potsdam Conference or the three-power conference in Berlin took place here (July 17 - August 2, 1945). The heads of government of the Soviet Union, Great Britain and the USA discussed how to proceed at the end of the Second World War, e.g. the organization of the zones of occupation (Potsdam Agreement).
