In the 40s / 50s of the last century, Wipperfürth was a transit camp for displaced people - this rail bus reminds of this. Models of this type ran on the Wipperfürth - Lennep route in scheduled train services until the 1980s. The rail bus purchased from Deutsche Privatbahn GmbH is now on the old railway site on the Bergische Panorama-Radweg.
