Beautiful and well-maintained building; a nice place to rest

The buildings are very attractive. But unfortunately not open to visitors

An eye-catcher when rolling by 🤩

The castle has an old history. 50 years ago the entire area was barracks. The Flark Battalion 21 was stationed there. The barracks guard's quarters are still in the upper area. On the right in the meadow there were 3 barracks where some of the soldiers of the staff battery slept. The battalion staff was housed below on the right in the half-timbered building. Opposite in the old sandstone building was the canteen. Behind it, further to the left, the maintenance department was housed. (2nd Company) There were also bedrooms for soldiers in the castle. There was a lot going on there and it happened that lockers were carried into the moat from above. (The alcohol had struck)

Baroque moated castle which has a long history, built around 1710, almost completely destroyed by fire in 1935. Reconstruction began in the year of the disaster, at great expense and with the help of numerous helpers. In 1963 Franz Anton von Ketteler came into possession of the estate. When major economic difficulties arose, the 8,000-volume library was sold in 1994 and the forest and land holdings in 1995, as was the inventory by Sotheby's. The castle with the outbuildings and the park was acquired by Otto Drosihn in 1998. Nice lap. Unfortunately not open to the public and therefore only visible from the outside.
