Unfortunately, we weren't lucky, and the summit was covered in clouds. The cross contains a summit log and a pen.

Great summit with a fantastic panoramic view. Climb from Gramai via the north side, challenging with climbing sections (surefootedness, a head for heights and mountaineering experience recommended), descent (or alternative ascent) via the normal route on the south side, steep and rocky, but easy to walk, not exposed. A stop at Gramai Hochleger is highly recommended!

Great hut! If you stay overnight, you should definitely hike up the Sonnenspitze again in the evening to watch the spectacular sunset.

In 2022 the Sonnjoch was still snow-free at the end of October and the ascent was easily feasible. You just have to keep an eye on the time, as it gets dark early in October. I started in Eng and climbed the Binsalm and the Binssattel.
