From the Danube Cycle Path near Krummnussbaum, cyclists are treated to a particularly beautiful view of Maria Taferl, which sits picturesquely perched above the Danube. The Lower Austrian municipality of Melk lies on the right bank of the Danube and, viewed in the direction of flow, is referred to as “the gateway to the Wachau”.
