The Ottergraben drains an extensive wet forest area that extends north of the Worzeldorfer and Glaser mountains. Its peaty brown water is caused by the moldy soils present there.

At the “Wernloch” itself, we were greeted - as expected - by a rugged and at times mystical landscape. In the past, red sandstone or the so-called “Wendelstein quartzite” was mined here, which was used mainly for millstones, paving stones and waterworks due to its durability. But today nature has reclaimed everything and the wild and romantic “Wernloch” has been created. There are small trails everywhere that always lead back to the main path. But be careful, surefootedness is required away from the main path.

Nice path left and right of the canal, here you can branch off towards Kornburg.

In autumn, when the leaves have already fallen, there is a very special atmosphere in the enchanted paths around and on Glasersberg. When it is wet, surefootedness and good shoe tread are important!
