城は1679年から1691年にかけて、中世のウォーターキャッスルに代わって、ホーエンローエ＝キュンツェルザウ伯爵ヨハン・ルートヴィヒによって4翼の複合施設として建設されました。1679年から1868年までホーエンローエ家の居城であり、1873年から1934年まで教員養成学校でした。1937年から1939年にかけて建物は完全に改築され、今日では寄宿舎付きの州立ギムナジウムが入居しています。

The historic Döttinger Gate, part of the former town fortifications dating back to the mid-16th century, was renovated and rebuilt around 1710, according to old documents. A chimney was added in 1892, and at the end of World War II, the apartment was renovated for a bombed-out Stuttgart family.

The Kochertal Bridge near Geislingen am Kocher is the highest (girder) bridge in Germany, with a maximum height of 185 m above ground. The A6 motorway, between Heilbronn and Nuremberg, crosses the Kocher Valley over this valley bridge in four lanes. An impressive view from below.
