Loreley was long a district town – from 1886 of the district and from 1939 of the Sankt Goarshausen district, and from 1961 to 1969 of the Loreley district – and is designated as a medium-sized center in the state's regional planning.

An excellent connection from the Moselle to the Rhine Valley. The route is closed to vehicles over 2 tons from Boppard to the highest point, making it particularly attractive for bicycles and a few lighter vehicles. It's a very quiet and scenic route. I recommend riding the route toward the Moselle—the descent from the highest point is then via a wider and better-maintained road. The tour presents no particular challenge by e-bike and is highly recommended.

These are further impressive castle complexes in the Middle Rhine Valley, which is rich in castles. Even back then, it was probably already an expensive residential area.

4月 3, 2024, St. Margaretha Catholic Church, Filsen
An early chapel in the village was dedicated to the Irish missionary Gallus (ca. 555-ca. 645). In 1826, Filsen became an independent parish. The old St. Gallus Church was demolished and replaced in 1877 by a new building (parish church) with a neo-Gothic vaulted hall and a recessed choir made of slate rubble.
