The Peace Pagoda in Vienna is a Buddhist building located on the banks of the Danube in Vienna's 2nd district, Leopoldstadt. It was built in 1983 on the initiative of Nipponzan Myohoji, a Japanese Buddhist order that promotes peace and non-violence. The pagoda is one of several peace pagodas around the world that were built as symbols of world peace. It is around 26 meters high and houses a statue of Buddha. The pagoda serves as a place of meditation, prayer and reflection. It is a quiet, spiritual place that exudes a peaceful atmosphere and welcomes people of all faiths. From the pagoda you also have a beautiful view of the Danube and the surrounding nature, which makes the place even more attractive to visitors.
