The bench is located directly beneath a shady tree, to which a simple yet expressive wooden wayside cross with a figure of Christ is attached – a quiet place for contemplation in the midst of nature. The drinking water fountain installed next to it is particularly original: a small tap protrudes from a hollowed-out tree trunk, providing fresh spring water to thirsty hikers and cyclists – a charming yet practical solution that blends harmoniously into the rural surroundings. The spot not only offers refreshment but also a wonderful view over fields and forests – an ideal place for a short rest away from the hustle and bustle.

The lakeside promenade in the village of Attersee on Lake Attersee is an idyllic retreat in the Upper Austrian Salzkammergut region, delighting both those seeking relaxation and those interested in culture. With its sweeping views over the shimmering lake and the surrounding rolling hills, it invites you to take a relaxing detour during a leisurely bike ride along the water all year round. A special stop along the promenade is the Pile Dwelling Pavilion. Here, visitors learn fascinating facts about the Stone Age pile dwellings that were once built directly on the lake. Although the settlements are now underwater, the pavilion vividly brings their history back to the surface – a worthwhile stop for anyone who enjoys combining culture with exercise.

It's a great way to keep fit and have fun. 😊 The exercise course is part of a bike tour that takes you through the countryside around the Kobernausserwald. The tour is 53.5 km long and has an altitude difference of 510 m. It is classified as difficult and requires a very good physical condition. The tour may contain sections of loose ground that are difficult to navigate. You start at the Naturfreundehaus in Schneegattern and follow the blue markings. On the way you will pass a great exercise course where you can let off steam. The course consists of various stations that train your strength, endurance, coordination and mobility. For example, you can do pull-ups, jump over hurdles, balance or jump rope. The course is suitable for all ages and is fun. You continue through Lengau, where you have a nice view of the church. Then it goes over fields and meadows to Friedburg, where you have the opportunity to take a break and have something to eat or drink. From there you drive back to Schneegattern, where your tour ends.
