Currently (Nov 2024) it looks like a renovation is underway here. Someone is putting up a fence around the house - to keep hikers away and fence off private property? (See my photos)

This hut offers everything you could wish for: friendly hosts, a cozy room, and snack platters that couldn't be more lovingly prepared - delicious! Hospitality par excellence

There is a self-service fridge with water, lemonade, beer and - if I remember correctly - even prosecco. Even if you haven't been on the way to Hochtrötsch for long, it's worth taking a short break.

The restaurant is only open on weekends, the owners are very friendly and the snack is highly recommended - and is enough for two hungry hikers ;-)
