A real gem in the old town. The view is currently somewhat obstructed by construction work.

Starting around 1560, Celle's town hall was built by master masons Jakob Rieß and Frederic Soltersborg from Salzburg, incorporating Gothic elements from a previous building. The central eastern gable dates from 1562, and the northern decorative gable dates from 1579. The building underwent numerous additions and modifications in the following centuries: a simple brick structure, the so-called "Wedding House," was added between 1580 and 1593, and the courtroom porch dates from 1599. A loft at the southern end was added at the beginning of the 17th century. A neoclassical remodeling followed in 1785, and in 1938 the building was extended by two axes to the south. The Örtze River rest area in Eversen is idyllically located directly on the river and is an attractive stopover for cyclists. It offers seating, covered shelters, and small mountain huts that invite you to linger. Surrounded by meadows and trees, the area offers a beautiful view of the Örtze River and is ideal for taking a break, having a picnic, or observing nature. The region around the rest area has numerous well-developed cycle paths, including the route through the Örtze glacial valley, which is suitable for both touring bikes and e-bikes. From here, you can embark on scenic tours through the southern heathland, past rivers, forests, and peaceful fields. The rest area is therefore a perfect place to relax and enjoy the surroundings in peace.

The Fassberg Airlift Museum, located at the air base in the Südheide region, commemorates the Berlin Airlift of 1948/49 and Fassberg's important contribution to supplying the besieged city. In several Nissen huts, railway carriages, and an outdoor area, the story is vividly told through documents, images, and original objects. A special highlight is the Douglas C-47 "Fassberg Flyer," an original Rosinenbomber, which is the centerpiece of the exhibition. The exhibition is complemented by sections of the Berlin Wall, logistics exhibits, and, more recently, a QR-guided audio guide in several languages. The museum is open daily in the afternoon from April to October. Admission is inexpensive, and children up to twelve years old are free. Guided tours are available for groups, and there are regular special events such as International Museum Day or holiday programs for children. Even unusual offerings such as civil weddings in the historic Rosinenbomber are part of the concept. The museum combines authentic history, personal experiences and impressive exhibits to create a living place of remembrance.

The Faßberg Airlift Museum commemorates the Berlin Airlift of 1948/49, during which large quantities of coal were flown from Faßberg to Berlin. Original documents, exhibits, and photographs are displayed in historic Nissen huts, railway carriages, and on the outdoor display featuring the Douglas C-47 "FASSBERG-FLYER." Segments of the Berlin Wall complement the exhibition. Open daily from April to October, the museum offers a striking insight into this significant chapter in post-war German history.

The Oldendorf gravel pits are a scenic area, ideal for cycling and nature observation. Formed by gravel mining, lakes and wetlands have formed here, which today provide habitat for numerous bird species and other animals. The paths around the ponds are easily accessible and invite you to take a relaxing bike ride. The diverse flora and fauna can be enjoyed, especially in spring and autumn.
