The Dreischusterhütte refuge, at 1,626 m, is located in the Val Campo di Dentro, in the Sesto Dolomites. Open from June to October, it offers typical Tyrolean cuisine and overnight accommodation. It can be reached on foot from San Candido, and is ideal for excursions and climbs in the Dolomites. It has large outdoor and indoor spaces, with a family atmosphere. The Sillianer Hütte marks both the start and end point of the Carnic High Route 403, also known as the Peace Trail or Via della Pace. It also serves as an important base for several long-distance hiking trails, including the Austrian Southern Alpine Long-Distance Trail No. 03 (Sillian–Karawanken–Radkersburg), the European Long-Distance Trail E10, and the Via Alpina. In addition to its function as a base for long-distance hikers, the hut is a popular destination for day-trippers—both vacationers and locals from the entire Hochpustertal Valley. Well-marked trails in the surrounding area lead to numerous worthwhile destinations, such as the Heimkehrerkreuz (2,273 m), the Helmgipfel (2,433 m), the Hornischeck (2,551 m), the Hollbrucker Eck (2,573 m), the Hochgränten war cemetery, and many other scenic spots.

The Talschlusshütte in the Fischleintal valley is located in the middle of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, at an altitude of 1,548 m and at the entrance to the famous Drei Zinnen Nature Park. The hut is located at the foot of the Sextner Sonnenuhr, the Dreischusterspitze and the limestone towers of the Rotwand. It is open all year round. The hut was briefly on the verge of closing in the 1990s. However, the closure was averted. Celebrities such as Luis Trenker, Reinhold Messner, Hans Kammerlander and Franz Klammer are among the hut's former visitors.

Located at 2,447 meters on the Carnic Ridge, the hut was built in 1986 as a modern replacement for the dilapidated Hinterberger Hut. Extensive expansions and renovations were carried out in 2018 and 2019 to better meet today's requirements.

From the Fondovalle refuge you have a wonderful view of the Sesto Dolomites. The surrounding peaks are the Croda Rossa di Sesto, the Cima Undici or the Monte Popera. All of them are almost 3,000 meters high.

Stunning area but very crowded.

The Sillianer Hütte is equipped with simple but comfortably furnished rooms and dormitories and is located directly on the Carnic High Trail, the 360-degree East Tyrol Trail, the Via Alpina and the Stoneman Trail. Both cyclists and adventurous hikers use the hut for breaks or for an overnight stay. Traditional dishes with regional products, as well as homemade bread and pastries are on the menu!

From here you have easy access to the Sesto Dolomites. But the path soon climbs steeply.
