The cabin is open from mid-May to late October and from Christmas to Easter. In the off-season Thursday is closed. There are 20 beds.

The Talschlusshütte in the Fischleintal valley is located in the middle of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, at an altitude of 1,548 m and at the entrance to the famous Drei Zinnen Nature Park. The hut is located at the foot of the Sextner Sonnenuhr, the Dreischusterspitze and the limestone towers of the Rotwand. It is open all year round. The hut was briefly on the verge of closing in the 1990s. However, the closure was averted. Celebrities such as Luis Trenker, Reinhold Messner, Hans Kammerlander and Franz Klammer are among the hut's former visitors.

The Fondo Valle Refuge (Talschlusshuette) rises at 1,548 m above sea level, in the heart of the Val Fiscalina, surrounded by majestic peaks such as the Croda Rossa, the imposing Cima Una, the Sesto Sundial and the grandiose Punta Tre Scarperi.

The first refreshment point was established in May 1953. In the autumn of the same year, a dormitory and kitchen were also built. In 1958 the Villgrater brothers become owners of the hut. Their first work will be the construction of a drinking water pipeline. In 1977, after the purchase of over 600 square meters of land, the new refuge was inaugurated. In 1993 it will be equipped with connections to the electricity line and to the sewer. On March 17, 2003 the old shelter was demolished. After only three months, on 21 June, the new Fondovalle Refuge was inaugurated. On 12 October of the same year will be celebrated with the 50th anniversary of a hotel which, in the meantime, has now become an integral part of the Val Fiscalina.

Today it is a modern mountain refuge with all comforts. Also open in the winter.

The Talschlusshütte lies at the end of the beautiful Fischlein Valley. The tours to the various huts in the region start from here. Always very well attended, partly overcrowded, that unfortunately you don't get any space inside.

We recommend. Delicious food at fair prices, friendly service staff and a great view of the surrounding mountains. We were there in the fall. It was quite busy at lunchtime, but not overcrowded.

Beautifully situated hut in the beautiful Fischleintal, which can be easily reached from the Dolomitenhof on a good path. From here, the paths branch off to the right directly to the Drei Zinnen Hütte and left via the Zsigmondy Hütte to the Büllelejoch Hütte and on to the Drei Zinnen Hütte.

Ascent from the Fischleintal to the three peaks. The parking lot is located here (just copy it into Google Map: M983 + PC Sexten, South Tyrol, Italy

The ascent to the Three Peaks is not particularly difficult and can be done with experienced children, as there are no exposed or dangerous places. It's a really nice panoramic trail.

The ascent to Sasso di Sesto is more difficult because exposed passages and snow fields have to be crossed. But it is worth it because you have the best view of the Three Peaks from there.

The parking lot costs 8 € for the whole day after 5 hours. June 21, 2020
