This is the highest point of the bike tour and an absolute must-see because of the stunning panoramic views from this treeless peak! There is a sign saying "Cycling is prohibited up here," but this only serves to protect the owner from lawsuits in the event of a fall caused by your own fault!

Beautiful summit with views as far as the Gesäuse, the Phyrn-Priel region and the UNESCO wilderness area of Dürrenstein-Lassingtal.

After visiting the impressive lookout tower and the Prochenhütte, be sure to visit the summit cross. The panorama is breathtaking and alpine. It's recommended to leave your bike at the bottom just before the final climb. If it's not too heavy, you can also carry or push it up for a summit photo; it's not far.

Beautiful view of the Ötscher, Scheiblingstein and Dürrenstein not far from the Hochkogel summit. There is a beautiful circular hike from Schieflau as a starting point with over 500 m altitude. Most sun-hungry hikers escape the fog and take the starting point from the Panoramastüberl.

Great summit for MTB/EMTB. We discovered a sand lizard under a stone

03/04/2023 - The ascent partly on the Bußweg is exhausting but worth the effort. Some sins can be worked off. I chose the circular route to the upper chapel, but the length was 6.54 km. Personally, I find the paths through the forest very beautiful here, with a view of Waidhofen from the top.
