The uphill trail runs directly across the cow pasture. We asked the ladies to move aside a bit 😂 so we could get through. The newly constructed trail down to the Kurzeggalm is really fun 🤘.

Not really a summit, but there is a summit cross and great views. The Draugsteintörl is definitely worth a detour, for example when climbing up or descending from the Tappenkarseehütte.

Then comes the descent which is not without its challenges

From Radstadt to Untertauern you can drive quickly, from Untertauern onwards things really get going! It's better to leave very early because of the traffic...

Nice stamping point with a view

The Penkkopf is one of the local mountains of the Salzburg sports world. Since 2024, it has officially been part of the Stoneman Taurista with a new stamping point. This is accompanied by a completely new section of the route that has two great trails to offer: the Hirschleiten Trail and the Penkkopf Shared Trail. On the way, you will also pass three very special huts: the newly renovated Kleinarler Hut, the rustic Kurzeggalm and the Lumberjack Hut, which opened in 2021 as the first organic-certified mountain restaurant in the Alps.

If you've made it this far, you should try it all the way to the Draugstein. The view is fantastic. I've had the opportunity to do this 5 times and it's always nice.
