From the bike path, the remains of the sunken village of Berich are clearly visible at low tide. It can also be easily explored on foot at low tide – very interesting!

The Eder Dam is 400 meters long, 6 meters wide, and 48 meters high at its crown. It was built between 1908 and 1914.

Today, the castle complex houses a museum[3] as well as a hotel and restaurant. The museum's exhibition, "Behind Lock and Key"[1], primarily displays artifacts from the time when the castle served as a women's prison and a workhouse during the 18th and 19th centuries. Guided tours are also available using an audio guide system. From the castle, there is a panoramic view of Lake Edersee as far as the dam and into the Kellerwald forest. The Waldecker Bergbahn cable car connects the castle with the various attractions located below Lake Edersee.
