The short path up to the upper summit cross of the Steinplatte is so crowded on some days that I settled for the lower cross today. But the climb is worth it, as always.

A great hut... with good food, good breakfast and a beautiful view (you can even see the Großglockner). We had 3 4-bed rooms with our group and were super satisfied. There was even a toilet and a sink in every room. Showers were extra.

The ski tour to the Dürrnbachhorn is planned and signposted by the DAV as a sustainable tour. There is a map with the ascent routes and descent options at the bottom of the parking lot for tourers. The day ticket for parking costs 5,-. Please make sure to avoid the forests along the summit slope on your tour. The game and grouse rest here. The view from the summit is beautiful and extends from Chiemgau over the Berchtesgaden Alps to the Wilder Kaiser and, when the weather is good, the Hohe Tauern.

Great all-round view and an impressive cross. With rope protection on the ascent, a viewing platform, a short climb from the mountain station and enough space on the summit, there is always a lot going on.

The stone slab cross is a worthwhile destination for the whole family, as the path is easy to walk.

A fantastic view of the foothills of the Alps and the Rosenheim and Chiemgau mountains.

Expansive summit with a beautiful, small chapel and a great view towards Lake Chiemsee. Often very well attended 🙃😉

A beautiful panoramic view of the Großglockner, Großvenediger, Watzmann, Loferer Steinberge, Wilden Kaiser, Chiemsee etc. There is also a via ferrata directly at the summit.
