Position The Portlahorn is part of the Damülser Berge group and is a striking, distinct, powerful peak with three ridges. The very lush vegetation is striking with dense shrubs of blueberries, alpine roses, juniper, etc., many flowers and green alders, especially on the avalanche slopes. neighboring peaks In the south, about 1000 m away as the crow flies, the Portlakopf (1905), in the north, about 1300 m away, the Sünserkopf (2032), in the north-west, about 1700 m away, the Sünser Spitze (2062) and in the north-east about 1600 m as the crow flies the Ragaz Blanken (2051). Hike The nearest hiking base is the Portlaalpe (1710 m above sea level, only open in summer) and the Freschenhaus (1846 m above sea level). Coming from Damüls over the Sieben Hügel, the Sünserjoch on the Portlahorn, you can choose to return via the Alpe Oberdamüls (1667 m). Definitely drive along the lake. In the back there are completely new views. I also recommend the Weier trip back over the Stierlochjoch. Refreshment options include the Ravensburger Hut and the Staffel Alpe (small alp just before the Joch with simple restaurants. 😎🐸
