Nice beer garden with good food and good beer, all at reasonable prices.

The palace was built by Count Adam von Taufkirchen, who occupied it in 1736. The stately three-story building with a curved gable impresses with its façade featuring rich Rococo stucco, including the stuccoed coats of arms of the noble families von Taufkirchen (left) and von Lerchenfeld (right). Emperor Napoleon I resided here from April 28 to May 2, 1809. From 1959 to 2006, the palace housed the district court. After that, the palace initially stood empty. Since its restoration in 2018, it has housed apartments and shops.

Wanghausen Castle is probably much older than its first documented mention in 1240. The four-story, plastered quarry stone building with a high gable roof, which acquired its present appearance in the 17th century, has a striking stepped gable on the east side, dating from the 19th century. The castle is privately owned; the interiors, with their Renaissance ceilings, cannot be visited. The many details of the facade are fascinating. The castle was once a knight's residence. Until 1779, the building, then still called Ach Castle, belonged to the castle and judicial district of Burghausen in Bavaria. Following the separation of the Innviertel region, it subsequently became Austrian.

Good place to stop for a break right on the Inn.

If you want to see the carp in Burghausen, you should first visit the castle and then go downstairs. Otherwise, you'll have to climb the stairs!
