Everything beautifully laid out at the reservoir

The "Hohes Licht" reservoir in Damüls was built in 2008 and has a capacity of approximately 86,000 m³. Because it was constructed in a boggy depression, it was considered problematic from a nature conservation perspective. Some of the bog vegetation has been reintroduced to the sides, but the artificial structure is still clearly visible thanks to the surrounding roadway, the fence, and the graveled, uniformly sloped slopes.

Unfortunately there was no water in the lake, so you could walk right through it

It's definitely a beautiful lake when it's full to the brim. Unfortunately, it was so empty during our visit that we could only walk through it! But that was still nice 🤣👍

Unfortunately the dam is no longer accessible at the moment, so the waterfall is best seen from a distance!!!

The Hohes Licht reservoir was built in 2008 and has a capacity of 86,000 m3. In winter, the pond supplies the water for the artificial snowmaking of the ski slopes.
