The brick building near Sulz train station was built in 1925 as a factory building for the colored weaving mill. The mill closed in 1963. In the years that followed, until the mid-1990s, the building housed a depot of the German Federal Armed Forces. After renovations, it now houses the town hall and commercial space. In front of the building stands a section of the central extraction system – a turbine-like fan wheel – which serves as an industrial monument.

In 1972, the city of Oberndorf purchased the complex, which is now used as the town hall. - The restored monastery church now serves as a cultural and event center.
