When you drive over the suspension bridge to the Wehrgraben, when you look into the lake, remember that it is exactly here that it is at its greatest depth, at 125.2 m. The fifth largest lake in the Salzkammergut has an area of exactly 8.58 m2. From the "Seeraunzen" inn (only a 1-minute walk from the Obersee train station) it takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour to get to the Hallstatt train station (a botanical nature trail begins about 500 m after the service area and ends in Obertraun).

The famous view from Gosaumühlstrasse of the Protestant and Catholic churches, the village, Lake Hallstatt and the mountains is one of the most shared images in the world. The viewpoint for the most famous photo motif in Hallstatt is about 5 minutes from the market square and the boat dock in the center. You just have to walk north along Lake Hallstatt. You won't miss the place. The point is also on the schedule of all guided tours through Hallstatt.

The Trinity Column (also called the Plague Column) stands in the middle of the historic market square. It dates back to the 18th century and was donated by a couple from Hallstatt who made salt as a thank you for the fact that the plague was over.

A really nice bike path. Just don't drive on the west side, it's very dangerous. Whether you have to go to Hallstatt is up to you. One look is enough for us.

A very beautiful mountain lake with the opportunity to stop at the Forellenhof. Absolutely to recommend.

Beautiful little place right on Lake Hallstatt... Strongly linked to the salt mining in the region... unfortunately very crowded, in the evening it gets better when only the overnight guests are there
