Once you have climbed the Pleß you will be rewarded with a great view. There is a playground for the little ones and plenty of seating for the adults to relax. The hiking hut is open on weekends and public holidays in the afternoons. 👍🏻

The Pleß had been a princely hunting area for a long time when the hunting lodge “Pleßhaus” was built approx. 1 km north of the summit in 1866/67 and this later developed into a popular restaurant for excursions. In 1921 the first wooden observation tower was built on the summit. It became dilapidated and was replaced by a stone tower in 1936 (Wiki).

The Ebertswiese is famous for its abundance of flowers and has been a nature reserve since 1936. Depending on the season, you can experience the magnificent play of colors in wildflowers that have already completely disappeared elsewhere. In May, the entire area shines in the sunny yellow of globeflowers and marsh marigolds. In June the meadow appears in the pink veil of the knotweed. Orchid species such as orchid and lady's slipper are represented, as are the healing arnica, cotton grass and devil's claw.
